Brother Francis Snyder, SCJ, 68, will celebrate his 50th election this year (shown at left). Originally from Zanesville, Ohio, most Br. Frank’s life was dedicated to education. He taught at Divine Heart Seminary (while serving as academic dean, business director and treasurer) and Immaculate Heart of Mary Seminary before taking a teaching position at Aquinas High School in San Bernardino, California. Fr. Christianus Hendrik, SCJ, 25, from Jubilee Province, Indonesia. Ordained in 1998, he worked as a missionary and was the director of an orphanage in Indonesia before his missionary work in West Papua. Malaria put an end to this work.

He came to the United States in 2009 to study English in preparation for serving in the Philippines, but the start of his studies prompted him to consider another mission. : South Dakota. In 2013, he successfully defended his dissertation “Bridging the Gap for Future Generations: Developing a Ministry Plan for Vietnamese-American Families Living in Bi-Cultural Societies” for the Doctor of Ministry program at Houston Theological Seminary.

Brother Andy, 40 years old, is a citizen of Poland. In 2004, he received a master’s degree in the field of education, specializing in social work. In doing so, he followed in the footsteps of his uncle, who worked as an administrator at the school. “I saw him as a man doing his job,” said Br. Andy said, “He’s a great role model. This is proof of being in business.”

Fr. Quang, 50, is the director of the US State Department. Originally from Vietnam, he was ordained in 2000 and served as a parish priest in St. Petersburg. Elizabeth Seton earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Houston before attending Fordham University in New York. In 2013, he received his PhD thesis. in Political Science/Political Science from Claremont Graduate University in California. The title of his thesis is “Doi Moi (Economic Renewal) Revisited: Positive Economic Outcomes and Negative Externalities, Especially in Vietnam’s Service Sector”.

Fr. Ed Zemlik, 57, is the last of four 20-year-olds. Elected in 2001, he worked in St. Petersburg. Matthew’s in Houston and affiliates through Southern Missions of the Sacred Heart in North Mississippi. While in Mississippi, Fr Ed served as diocesan dean for three years (six years) at the Jackson Presbyteral Council.

He is the director of the ESL program at Sacred Heart Seminary and School of Theology. Fr. Ed received his BA from Indiana University in Gary and his M.Div. from the Catholic Theological Union of Chicago.
